NC State’s depth chart for Troy

There were few changes to N.C. State’s depth since the end of the spring for next Saturday’s opener with Troy.

There weren’t many jobs open headed into training camp so that is not surprising. There are six returning starters on offense and eight on defense. Redshirt freshman Will Richardson emerged as the starter at right tackle and junior Matt Dayes will start at running back.

Coach Dave Doeren has also said that freshman Kyle Bambard will be the kicker.

Doeren often reminds the media that he has a young team and the two-deep reflects that. There are eight sophomore starting, more than any other class, and six true freshmen in the two-deep, including starters in Bambard, punter A.J. Cole and receiver Nyheim Hines.

Seven of the 11 seniors on the roster will start against Troy with an eighth, running back Shadrach Thornton, figuring to return to the starting lineup after his two-game suspension.

There are six starters from the junior class.
