North Carolina

NCAA late night with Roy and K: UNC (9:57 pm Friday), Duke (10:07 Thursday)

And to think, North Carolina coach Roy Williams was upset about the 9:40 p.m. start against Providence Saturday.

That was the good old day.

The No. 1 Tar Heels (30-6) are scheduled to play No. 5 Indiana (27-7) Friday at 9:57 p.m in Philadelphia.

No. 4 Duke (25-10) is scheduled to play No. 1 Oregon (30-6) Thursday at 10:07 p.m. in Anaheim, Calif.

Both games will be televised on TBS. NCAA game times are determined by CBS and Turner Broadcasting.

On Friday, after hearing his team would play Providence at 9:40 pm Saturday, Williams blasted the scheduling.

“Surprised and very disappointed,” Williams said. “Jiminy Christmas, you know? What can you say? 9:45, 9:50 for a start time. Don’t we have an east, south, midwest, west? Don’t we have games out there we can show on TV at that time? You know, it’s like spitting in the wind. It’s stupid because you can’t do anything about it, but I despise it.”
