North Carolina will begin the 2015-16 season against Temple in Annapolis, Md., in the Veterans Classic, CBS Sports announced on Monday.
The Tar Heels and Owls will play on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the first game of a double-header at the Naval Academy. In the second game, Florida will play against Navy.
As part of the trip, the teams in the Veterans Classic will experience a day in the life as a midshipman at the Naval Academy. The teams will tour the Naval Academy campus, watch the noon meal formation, eat lunch with the Brigrade at King Hall and take part of various demonstrations and receptions.
This the second annual Veterans Classic. The games will be broadcast by the CBS Sports Network.
Here's UNC coach Roy Williams in a statement:
“It’s a tremendous honor for Carolina Basketball to visit the Naval Academy and play in an event that pays tribute to the brave men and women who safeguard our country. Four years ago we were privileged to play on an active aircraft carrier; we are again blessed with the opportunity to learn more about life at the Academy and also play a game against a quality team such as Temple. Our players, coaches and staff certainly will have an unforgettable experience.”
