Canes’ Justin Faulk named NHL’s third star of week
Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk has been named the NHL’s third star of the week for his play last week in three road games.
Faulk had three goals and three assists as the Canes went 2-1-0. He leads all NHL defensemen with 12 goals this season, all on the power play. His 12 power-play scores in 30 games tie the franchise record for a defenseman in a season set by Risto Siltanen in 1983-84.
Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford was named the first star of the week after going 3-0-0 with two shutouts, and Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall was the second star.
