What to Watch on Monday: ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and ‘A Christmas Story’ marathon

It’s a Wonderful Life (8 p.m., NBC) - It’s the only broadcast network airing of this 1946 Frank Capra classic, in which a suicidal man ruined by a miser on Christmas Eve sees his life in a new light thanks to his guardian angel. It stars James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore.

A Christmas Story (8 p.m., TBS) - The 24-hour marathon begins. Little Ralphie tries to convince his parents in the 1940s to get him a Red Ryder range-model BB gun for Christmas in this 1983 favorite. This marathon ends at 8 p.m. Christmas day. (The marathon starts at 9 on TNT.)

Beauty and the Beast (8 p.m., ABC) - This 1991 animated Disney classic tells the story of Belle, a French maiden who takes the place of her captured father in the enchanted castle of an accursed prince, and her love is the prince’s only chance to resume human form.
