Farm Aid, the fundraising concert started by Willie Nelson and friends in 1985, returned to North Carolina Saturday with an all-star lineup and a mission to shine a spotlight on the nation’s farmers.
The one-day festival at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh included plenty of live music from founders Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Margo Price and Sheryl Crow.
Organizers expected the sold-out show to bring 20,000 people to the outdoor Raleigh amphitheater to listen to music, take part in interactive exhibits and demonstrations by food and farm groups and enjoy farm-to-table concessions.
Farm Aid last came to Raleigh in 2014.
