Rhiannon Giddens, acclaimed Greensboro native who has won a MacArthur Fellowship and the Steve Martin Prize for banjo, has been added to the lineup for Wide Open Bluegrass. It’s part of the 2018 World of Bluegrass festival, Sept. 25-29 in Raleigh.
Gillian Welch and local stars Chatham County Line join the 2018 main-stage lineup for World of Bluegrass, part of IBMA's bluegrass festival. The event will feature Ricky Skaggs, Patty Loveless, Earls of Leicester, Sierra Hull and Molly Tuttle.
The International Bluegrass Music Association's keynote speaker in 2018 will be Jamie Dailey of acclaimed duo, Dailey & Vincent. Last year's speaker Rhiannon Giddens, won a MacArthur Fellowship "Genius Grant" shortly afterward.
