It’s time for one of the most anticipated moments of “The Bachelorette”: Hometown Week.

Jenn Tran’s journey to love started out with 25 men from all over the country. Now only four guys remain, including Raleigh’s Marcus Shoberg.

From having the first limo entrance of the season to not one, but two one-on-one dates thus far, the military veteran has made quite the connection with the show’s leading lady.

But how did it go when she met his friends and loved ones? Here’s a recap of what happened during his hometown date — that wasn’t in North Carolina — on the latest episode:

Attention: Spoilers ahead.

Homeward bound for hometown dates

After spending time in Houston with Devin; Fairfield, Conn. with Jeremy; and San Diego with Jonathon, Jenn had her last hometown date of the week in Tacoma, Washington, with Marcus.

“I could really see myself falling in love with Marcus,” Jenn said privately before their date. “My feelings have definitely grown in the past few weeks and especially last week having a second one-on-one date. But it’s been really hard for him to open up to me and express how he’s feeling.

“I know that my feelings are further along than his and that’s scary, so today with meeting Marcus’ loved ones — the people who are most important to him — I’m hopeful that he expresses his feelings for me. There’s just a lot of weight on today.”

Though Marcus currently lives in Raleigh, he took Jenn back to the West Coast to meet his younger sister along with his two mentors/former parental figures and several of his close friends from his time as an Army ranger.

“Having Jenn here in Tacoma to meet my friends and my family and all the people that I care about … it just feels like a clashing of worlds for me in the best possible way,” he said to producers. “But I’m definitely feeling nervous because I can’t wait to see how Jenn interacts with everyone.”

After entering the room that Marcus said “instantly felt like home,” it didn’t take long for Jenn to hit it off with a lot of his friends and family.

“I know Jenn’s a tough girl and she can handle herself but to see her so seamlessly fit in with my friends and family is impressive and it makes me hopeful” Marcus said.

Throughout their time on the show, the two have very quickly formed a relationship but Marcus expressed how he was hoping that their hometown date could help give him clarity.

“I’m doing everything I can to stay open to the possibility of falling in love and having a future with Jenn but I think I’m kind of stuck somewhere in between really, really liking someone and loving them,” he told his close friend, Scott. “Maybe I’m beating myself up a little bit because I’m, like, not in love with her yet but you know, I still do have hope that that can happen.

“I know that she knows I feel strongly about her and I know that she feels strongly about me, but if and when we fall in love, I think we’re both kind of like, waiting for each other to, like, take that step of like, to make that known …I wonder how much of it is because I’m afraid.”

Jenn expressed those same concerns too in a conversation with his friend Sue and younger sister Gabriella. She became emotional when expressing how she’s been holding back a bit too.

“I care very strongly for your brother and I mean, yeah, I am definitely falling in love with him. And I think that I get scared ‘cause I also don’t want to get my heart broken,” she told his sister, who reassured Jenn that she thinks he really is happy with their relationship.

When the siblings got alone time to chat together, Marcus’ sister encouraged him to let his guard down.

Overcoming doubts

In the end, Marcus did open up to Jenn about how deeply he feels for her.

“It’s not a small deal that they love you, and the way that they feel about you is an extension of the way that I feel about you,” he said. “So I want you to know that, you know, I am falling for you. I know that because of just how happy you make me, and I hope that today meant as much for you as it meant for me.”

Though he later said how he can see Jenn fitting into his life, Marcus still had some doubts following his hometown date.

After catching up with Devin, Jeremy and Jonathon after their respective hometown visits, Marcus started feeling down about where things stood with Jenn in comparison to her other relationships — and how he felt behind.

“I think I went into it looking for, like, clarity and I think I walked out with some clarity… but I think, like, kind of just where I’m at … maybe I’m like, have some reservations or like hesitations about how I’m feeling. You know, I think I’m afraid,” he told the group of guys. “For me to go into an engagement, like there are some things that I need to feel unapologetically in my heart for me to get down on a knee and know that it means everything that it should mean.”

Even before the rose ceremony, Marcus still felt guilt about not having feelings as strong as the other contestants on the show.

“I don’t want to sabotage something that could be really good for the both of us,” he shared privately. “But I think she can kind of feel that I’m struggling to like meet her where she’s at and I think that if I go home tonight, it’s because she has like run out of patience. I’m worried that something that makes me extremely happy could be, like, taken away.”

Did Marcus get a rose from Jenn?

Despite his fears, Marcus did get a rose from Jenn and will have an overnight date with her next week.

Who got eliminated during the rose ceremony?

After hometown dates with the four remaining men, Jeremy was eliminated and sent home. Along with Marcus, Devin and Jonathon will also get a overnight date with Jenn.
