An unprecedented new restaurant from one of the Triangle’s most popular bakeries opened in Raleigh on the morning of Friday, Jan. 10.

La Farm Bakery unveiled its newest location in the Creekside Commons shopping center off of Wake Forest Road. This new 3,200-square-foot restaurant and bakery represents a tasty shift for La Farm — its first pizzeria.

The new La Farm can be found at 404 E. Six Forks Road in Raleigh.

Owned by married couple Lionel and Missy Vatinet, La Farm first opened in Cary in 1999, bringing a European-style craft bakery to the Triangle. La Farm has since added several more locations across the region, and its breads and pastries are found in Whole Foods grocery stores.

Raleigh’s first La Farm location

Now after a quarter-century, Creekside Commons marks the beloved bakery’s first permanent location in Raleigh, though a small pop-up spot remains open on Glenwood Avenue.

“This new location in Raleigh (in addition to our Glenwood South retail store) enables us to reach our Raleigh customers where they are and make our European breads and pastries — and especially our holiday breads and desserts this season — even more accessible,” Lionel Vatinet said in a release.

Raleigh’s La Farm to serve pizza

The new La Farm is the bakery’s largest cafe-style location, and with the addition of a pizza oven is planning airy Neapolitan-inspired pies. In the early part of 2025, the Creekside Commons La Farm will also add stretch into the evenings with dinner service and a beer and wine menu.

The expansion beyond bread has been led by La Farm’s COO Omar Gaye, who joined the company in 2023. The addition of drinks and dinner are also planned for La Farm’s flagship location in Cary’s Preston Corners.

Upcoming La Farm café locations

“We’re excited to share the next generation of La Farm Bakery with this refreshed, modern look and feel, on-site bakery, full-service café and bar with seating for 48, designed to welcome guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” Gaye said in a release. “In the new year, we’re upfitting our flagship bakery at Preston Corners to reflect this, and all new locations will also offer this complete French bakery, restaurant and bar experience.”

While introduced as a pop-up, La Farm plans to add seating and cafe service to its Glenwood Avenue location. Also in the works is a new restaurant location in downtown Apex, where current plans include a rooftop bar.
