A new wine bar debuts in Raleigh in time for the Triangle’s latest snow day.

The popular Charlotte wine bar Foxcroft Wine opens in North Hills this week, almost exactly a year since announcing its first expansion to the Triangle.

Foxcroft started two decades ago as a traditional wine shop and has since expanded into six locations in the Carolinas.

“After an extensive yearlong renovation, we’re excited to finally introduce the Foxcroft concept to Raleigh,” said Conrad Hunter, founder and CEO of Foxcroft Wine Co. “Our new North Hills location is a perfect fit for us to start building a community in the Triangle area. We hope our unique business model will resonate with the Raleigh community, and like our other locations, become a popular gathering spot.”

The new Raleigh Foxcroft will feature one of the Triangle’s largest offerings of wines by the glass, with 40 different bottles being poured. Blending wine shop and wine bar, Foxcroft also handles bottles differently.

The sticker price for bottles on the shelves is the price to open and share the bottle in the restaurant. Bottles purchased to take home get a 25% discount. The shop and bar will feature around 3,500 different wines.

“At Foxcroft, you won’t find the typical restaurant price markup on tableside wine bottles, or a fee to enjoy them,” said company operations director, Susan Giambo in a release.

On the food side, Foxcroft’s menu seems to reach for flavors that pair best with wines. You’ll find a burger with truffle fries, curated charcuterie plates, pastas and steaks cooked in a charcoal oven.

Foxcroft will be open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.
