Utah-based The Back Nine Golf is making its North Carolina debut, and the first location is opening in Chapel Hill.
Owned by husband-wife duo Demetrius and Barbara Carter, The Back Nine Golf includes three semi-private Full Swing golf simulator bays, which allow players to improve their game. The simulators track swing speed, ball spin and distance, and visitors can play on popular courses such as Bethpage, Pebble Beach and Pinehurst.
The grand opening begins with a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9.

New Pilates studio at North Hills
After opening two Triangle Jetset Pilates locations in recent years, franchise owners Katie Myers and Renee Aquilino are expanding to a third location, this time in Raleigh.
The duo, who also own the locations in Smoky Hollow and in Holly Springs, are opening the new studio in North Hills. Scheduled for a grand opening Saturday, Jan. 10, the 2,790-square-foot studio will have 16 custom reformers and offer 50-minute, full-body workouts combining cardio, strength and Pilates-inspired movements.
