New details about the changes coming to a Crabtree Valley Mall anchor tenant have just been announced.

Belk, the Charlotte-based department store that has a flagship location at the Raleigh shopping center, is undergoing renovations, including the introduction of modern shop-in-shop concepts for “premier” vendors.

Beautyspace will be among the shop-in-shop vendors at the Crabtree Belk, according to a news release. In-store brands include Rose Inc., IGK, Oak Essentials, Algenist, Briogeo and Malin and Goetz.

The retailer offers a curated assortment of brands spanning skincare, haircare, body care and fragrance. It plans to open shop-in-shops at four other Belk locations, including at SouthPark Mall in Charlotte.

“Beautyspace was founded on the principle of bringing beauty discovery to consumers where, when and how they chose to shop,” Noah Rosenblatt, president of Beautyspace, said in the news release. “We understand that consumers are seeking more intentionality of their product curation for their beauty routine. Partnering with Belk allows us to scale that vision and introduce our brand partners to new markets while delivering relevant newness to Belk customers.”

The Beautyspace at Crabtree will open Friday, April 3.

Renovations planned for Belk at Crabtree

Slated to be completed by the holiday shopping season, the upgrades include the addition of a wine and coffee bar and a “refined personal shopper studio,” along with integrating the men’s department to the storefront that houses the women’s, kid’s and home departments.

The Crabtree location will not be the first Belk with a wine and coffee bar. The store at Charlotte’s SouthPark Mall, for example, features Arthur’s Restaurant and Wine Shop.

Belk at Crabtree will remain open throughout the remodel.

The retailer operates multiple locations across the Triangle, including at Triangle Town Center and The Streets at Southpoint.
