Graphic: One Raleigh zip code shows sharp increases in rent prices in recent months
Rent prices in the Triangle continue to rise, and this is especially true for one zip code in Raleigh.
The News & Observer reported earlier this year that central Raleigh, which includes downtown, has the most expensive one-bedroom apartments in the region while Chapel Hill/Carrboro has the priciest three-bedroom units.
Data from RentHub shows one the median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in one Raleigh zip code skyrocketed each month since the end of last year.
▪ Median rent for a one-bedroom apartment for zip code 27608 was $2,319 as of March, the most recent available data from RentHub.
This area includes the neighborhoods Country Club Hills, Hayes Barton, Five Points, Bloomsbury, Villa Park and others.
In February, median rent for this zip code was $2,099. This is nearly a 10.5% increase from the month prior.
In January, median rent for this zip code was $2,000. Between January and March, rent increased by nearly 16%.
