Sister apparel brands J. Crew and Madewell are popular with millennials and Gen Xers alike for their smart-casual looks.

They’re now coming to North Hills’ Main District as part of Kane Realty’s $350 million expansion project. Currently under construction, it’s expected to open later this year.

“They’ll strengthen the already impressive lineup,” said Stacey Buescher, Kane Realty’s managing director of operations, in a press release.

A Restoration Hardware “RH Gallery” will serve as the area’s retail anchor, with a rooftop restaurant and bar. Other retailers announced include Limani Grille, Mia’s Bakery, Village Tavern, True Food Kitchen and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

The reinvention of the North Hills Shopping Center is 20 years in the making.

John Kane, CEO of Kane Realty, bought the property over two decades ago. But what started as a renovation of a neighborhood shopping center evolved into a multibillion-dollar redevelopment covering 100 acres of prime Raleigh real estate.

Once complete, it will include a 12-story residential building, 346,000 square feet of office space and 100,000 square feet of ground floor retail.
