Can’t find certain groceries at the store? Try one of these national food chains

Grocery items can be tough to come by as self-isolators clear shelves due to the novel coronavirus — but some national chains are stepping up to help.

Here’s where you can find items such as bread, meat and produce when the grocery store is out.

LongHorn Steakhouse

The steak chain launched LongHorn Steak Shop through which customers can purchase uncooked cuts of steak, a representative for the company told McClatchy News.

Prices start at $6 and available cuts of meat include filets, ribeyes, sirloins and New York strips.

Each order comes with cooking instructions, bread and LongHorn’s signature seasoning, the company said.

Guests can order online for same day curbside pickup.

Panera Bread

The soup, salad and sandwich chain is offering highly sought-after items such as milk, bread and produce for pick-up or delivery, according to a news release.

Available items include 2% and skim milk, Greek yogurt, loaves of white and whole grain bread, apples, avocados, grapes and a number of other kitchen staples.

To order, visit Panera Grocery online or on the Panera app to add items to your order. You can also order Panera Grocery items through GrubHub, the release said.

Texas Roadhouse

The steak chain is selling fresh cuts of steak for people to take home and cook, the company announced on Facebook.

Guests are able to purchase ribeyes, strips, sirloins and filets and are encouraged to call ahead to place their orders, WSAW reported.

Jimmy John’s

The sandwich shop is selling loaves of its fresh-baked French bread to help make “it easier to get daily necessities,” the company said in a news release.

Loaves cost $2 depending on location, Thrillist reported.

Jimmy John’s “Freaky Fresh Bread on Demand” is available at participating restaurants nationwide for delivery or pick-up, curb-side and drive-thru included, the release said. The bread is also available for contactless delivery.

There’s no limit to the number of loaves per order (local stores may their own restrictions), but Jimmy John’s is asking guests to be judicious and only order what they need “so supplies are available to as many [families] as possible,” the release said.

Edible Arrangements

The company known for its fruit bouquets is offering boxes of fresh produce for those who may not be able to find what they need at the supermarket, the company said in a news release.

The varieties of fruits and produce available for delivery will vary by location, the release said, but the online store shows several different boxes available for purchase including one of fresh fruit and one with fruits and vegetables as well as a bundle of fresh produce and desserts.

Boxes and bundles range in price from $24.99 to $84.98, according to the website.

Edible Arrangements is also offering free same-day delivery for orders placed before 3 p.m., the release said.

Girl Scout Cookies

While Girl Scouts of America has suspended cookie-selling booths due to COVID-19, you can still get your hands on a box of your favorites thanks to Girl Scouts Cookie Care.

The campaign enables customers to order cookies online and have them delivered to their homes, the organization said in a release.

Subway

The sandwich chain has launched Subway Grocery which allows people to purchase items including breads, meats, cheeses and vegetables for curbside pickup, inside pickup or delivery within five miles of the store, McClatchy News reported.

The service is available at select locations in California, Oregon, Washington, Tennessee and Connecticut.
