The story of a life can’t be told with numbers. As more people die from complications of COVID-19, The News & Observer wants to tell their stories. Those lost were friends and neighbors, grandmothers and uncles, people now missing from communities and families. If you’ve lost a loved one or friend in North Carolina to the coronavirus, please tell us more about them. Email jdjackson@newsobserver.com or call 919-829-4707 and leave a message. The coronavirus has broken hearts all across North Carolina.

The growing circle of grief includes more than 160 people who have died from the virus since the first North Carolina death on March 24.

But the story of a life can’t be told with numbers, a point on a curve or a line on a table. Those lost were friends and neighbors, grandmothers and uncles, people now missing from communities and families.

The News & Observer wants to help tell the stories of those in the state who have died from the coronavirus.

To share the story of someone who died in the pandemic, email jdjackson@newsobserver.com or call 919-829-4707 and leave a message.
