3rd man now charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a teen in Raleigh
Raleigh police have charged a third man with murder in the fatal shooting of a teenager last week.
Trampus Malik Brodie, 21, of Knightdale was arrested and taken to the Wake County Detention Center, police said in a news release Monday evening.
On Sunday, police announced that Santiago Alejandro Pacheco, 19, of Wendell had been charged with murder, and James Jarquin, 18, of Zebulon had been charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. Both were also taken to the jail.
The three men are accused of killing 17-year-old Zaequan Deloatch on Wednesday. It was the fourth homicide in Wake County this year, The News & Observer has reported.
The releases did not provide a motive or give details except to say Deloatch was found shot in the 5400 block of Duckling Way. WRAL reported Deloatch was shot near a shopping center at the corner of New Bern Avenue and Rogers Lane, then ran to nearby Duckling Way, where someone saw him collapse and called 911.
He was taken to Wake Med where he died.
State prison records show that Jarquin was given probation after being convicted this month of crimes including breaking and entering, assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
