Man’s body found floating in retention pond in Wake County; police investigating
The Knightdale Police Department is investigating the death of a man after his body was found floating in a retention pond near a CVS pharmacy in eastern Wake County.
A driver reported to authorities seeing a body in the water Thursday afternoon between Aragon Drive and Knightdale Boulevard, police said.
Police began investigating before 5 p.m. on Thursday, according to a news release.
First responders found the body of a man, whose identity has not been released.
Foul play is not believed to be a factor.
“Regardless of the circumstances, this is a tragic ending for any person and a sad day for the family they leave behind,” Knightdale Police Chief Lawrence Capps told ABC11, The News & Observer’s newsgathering partner.
A cause of death has not been determined.
