Located right next to Lawrence Barbecue and within walking distance of many other local shops and restaurants, the deck offers 296 parking spaces. There is no cost to park in the deck, which was designed by Machado Silvetti.
Drivers can enter the deck at 136 E. Cedar St. Pedestrians can navigate the deck using an elevator and stairs in a tower on Chatham Street, or stairs on Cedar Street.
In addition to providing more parking options for downtown Cary, the deck includes about 4,000 square feet of ground-level retail space.
The town owns and operates the deck, and Northwoods Rogers Condo owns and operates the retail building, according to the Town of Cary website.
Another parking deck to come
The Cedar Street deck is one of two new parking decks coming online in downtown Cary in 2026.
The other deck, located at 206 S. Academy St., is expected to open soon. It will provide approximately 225 public parking spaces and hundreds more for residents of the 195-unit Meridian Cary apartment building, for which leasing is now open.
Meridian Cary and the parking deck are part of the Jordan project, a mixed-use development that will also include office and retail space.
Decks on Academy and Cedar streets will join two other public decks downtown, near Town Hall on Wilkinson Avenue and at 113 Walnut St., near the library and Downtown Cary Park.
