Holly Springs High School student ‘in grave condition’ after Labor Day car crash

A Monday night crash has left a Holly Springs High School student “in grave condition,” the town’s police department said.

The student, who was the sole occupant of the car, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.

Around 10:42 p.m. Monday, Holly Springs police officers and fire department and rescue workers responded to the crash at the intersection of Avent Ferry Road and Holly Meadow Drive.

The car had veered left off the road and struck a tree, the release said.

The driver’s name has not been released.
