Two shootings were reported within minutes — and miles — of each other in North Raleigh Tuesday evening, Raleigh police said.

A man was killed in one of two shootings reported within minutes — and miles — of each other in North Raleigh Tuesday evening, Raleigh police said Wednesday.

Steven McLamb, 49, was shot in the Greystone Village Shopping Center at 7713 Lead Mine Road, which is home to a Food Lion grocery store and several restaurants. The shooting happened about 5:17 p.m.

Police said Tuesday that McLamb had been shot and was taken to the hospital with “serious injuries,” according to a news release. Police said they did not have information on the shooting’s circumstances or any suspects.

About 4 miles south, at 5:22 p.m. police reported to a shooting at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Creedmoor Road. There they found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Police said there is no threat to the community and that both shootings remain under investigation.
