3 men killed in separate instances in Wake County, one died after being shot in Raleigh

Raleigh police are investigating a deadly shooting in North Raleigh.

Just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man was shot near the Food Lion on Lead Mine Road in North Raleigh.

Police said he was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

On Wednesday, police identified the man as Steven McLamb, 49.

No charges have been filed at this time, according to a statement from the Raleigh police.

McLamb’s death is the 14th homicide in Raleigh this year, and the third in Wake County this week.

On Monday, Cody Armstrong was shot and killed alongside an unnamed man in Willow Spring. A 66-year-old Willow Spring man has been arrested and charged with murder.

On Wednesday, Robert William Barton was shot and killed in Fuquay-Varina near the Harnett County line. He was 49. Jeffrey Hoffman, 63, has been arrested and charged with murder in Barton’s death.
