A former Rolesville Charter Academy teacher accused of sexually assaulting a student last year now faces additional charges.
Armani Rajon Fields, 25, was arrested Nov. 27 by Rolesville police after he allegedly had sex with a minor on campus, The News & Observer previously reported.
Fields, who was already facing three charges of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in Johnston County, posted $250,000 bond, The N&O reported. School officials confirmed he was no longer employed at the charter school.
In the weeks since those charges against him, Fields has accumulated at least three more charges, as first reported by WRAL:
- On Dec. 11, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office charged him with indecent liberties with a student allegedly occurring Nov. 16, court records show. Fields was arrested on that charge four days after and posted $50,000 bond, according to court records.
- Then, on Dec. 23, Rolesville police filed two more charges, accusing Fields of first-degree kidnapping and a sex act with a student occurring Nov. 6, court documents show.
All of the charges in Wake and Johnston counties appear to involve the same victim, according to the arrest warrants.
Fields was arrested Thursday on the new Wake County charges and remained in the Wake County Detention Center without bail as of Friday morning, according to court records. He’s set to make his first appearance in court Friday afternoon.
Rolesville Charter Academy staff reported the allegations to law enforcement immediately after learning about them, school spokeswoman Leah Wheatlake told The N&O last month.
“These disturbing allegations have left our entire school community in shock,” Wheatlake said. “Our priority remains providing a safe learning environment for our students.”
