Extradition proceedings are pending for a man accused of murder in a November 2025 Durham County shooting, the Durham County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

The U.S. Marshals Service found Carlos Anuel Medina Robles in Ward, North Dakota., and took him into custody without incident, the Sheriff’s Office said.

He is accused of shooting Luis Alberto Flores, 28, along the 6100 block of Guess Road in Rougemont, roughly 17 miles north of Durham.

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division, in coordination with the FBI, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Marshals Services, identified Robles as the suspect and his whereabouts, the Sheriff’s Office said.
