Shared porn video showed middle school students. Raleigh police are investigating.

Raleigh police are investigating a pornographic video showing Carroll Middle School students that was circulated among students there.

In a message to families Wednesday, Principal Gary Major said an off-campus incident had resulted in a pornographic video being shared with students.. The message says some students received the video on their phones Tuesday.

The Wake County school system confirmed that the video showed Carroll students. It’s illegal to distribute a video showing minors engaged in sexual acts.

“I regret that our students were involved in this incident and were exposed to this inappropriate content via social media,” Major said in the message. “The Raleigh Police Department is actively investigating this matter.”

Parents were asked to share any information about incidents like the video by using the Wake County Public School System Tip Line 919-856-1911 or the Say Something reporting system.

Carroll Middle School is off Six Forks Road in the North Hills section of Raleigh.
