Naked woman who went missing in 28-degree weather found safe at Oregon home, cops say

A woman who went missing in Oregon early Tuesday morning was found safe at a home in Sandy in the afternoon, local authorities said.

Katie Delaney, 23, was last seen naked before going missing in 28-degree weather, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter.

Delaney vanished after arguing with a friend shortly after midnight in Welches, near Mount Hood, The Oregonian reported. It’s not clear if she was naked when she left, but she didn’t take anything with her, including her phone.

“Thanks to all who sent tips and contributed to the search!” deputies wrote on Twitter after she was found.

Deputies also shared photos from the search.

Delaney had last been seen without any clothes at 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Village Loop and Lolo Pass Road, deputies wrote on Twitter.

Deputies had described Delaney as 5 feet tall and 110 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes, asking anyone who was her to call 911.

People suffering from hypothermia and exposure have been known to take off their clothes because they feel “irrationally hot,” Gizmodo reports.
