Taco Bell is giving out free tacos as a ‘thank you’ amid the coronavirus pandemic
“Taco Tuesday” might be off the table for the indefinite future, but Taco Bell is doing its best to bring it back.
In a letter Friday, CEO Mark King announced the California-based fast food chain will give out free tacos across the United States on Tuesday, March 31.
“It’s a small way for us to say thank you for the ways you’re showing up for your communities and our chance to give you a little TLC during this time,” King said in the letter.
All guests who come through Taco Bell’s drive-thru service are eligible for a free seasoned beef Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco — no purchase necessary, according to the announcement.
The offer is only available while supplies last and not for delivery, Taco Bell Corp. said in a news release.
They recommend customers check with their local store for availability.
The taco freebie is part of a larger effort to give back to the community during the coronavirus pandemic, according to King — including turning its taco trucks into “mobile commissaries” for essential workers such as those in healthcare, teachers and grocery store employees.
In addition, Taco Bell announced it will donate $1 million to “No Kid Hungry,” a nonprofit focused on ending childhood hunger.
