A son woke his mom up with some exciting news on a recent night, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

Randy Williams, 48, woke up in the middle of the night on June 14 and found out he’d won $518,774 in the Cash 5 game, according to a news release from the lottery agency.

The man, who lives in Greenville, rushed to wake up his mom.

“I just ran through the house hollering,” he told lottery officials.

He said his mom was also happy about the news.

“She was jumping up and down,” he said, according to the release. “She was so excited.”

He collected his prize on June 15 and took home $369,627 after taxes, according to the release.

Williams said he always had a “gut feeling” he would win. And now that he has, he plans to do something nice for his mom.

“I’m going to buy my mom a house,” he said. “She’s very happy.”

Greenville is about 85 miles east of Raleigh.
