A 24-year-old has been arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a boy under 13 in 2022, California officials said.

Humberto Reyes-Palacios, a former track and field coach at Rolling Hills Middle School, is accused of sexually abusing a boy while he was working there, according to a July 23 Facebook post by Watsonville police.

Reyes-Palacios was serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the track and field team at Pajaro Valley High School when he was arrested, officers said.

He was arrested July 23 in Capitola and is facing charges of human sex trafficking of a minor, contacting a minor with intent to commit certain felonies, and lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, officials said.

Detectives believe there could be additional victims, and anyone with information is asked to call 831-889-8413, according to the release.

Watsonville is about a 160-mile drive southwest from Sacramento.
