Lottery player grabs his ‘go-to’ game — then was left in ‘total shock’ by prize
A Michigan man was left shocked after he bought a scratch-off lottery ticket and won the jackpot.
The 34-year-old an from Oakland County bought his “go-to” Colossal Cashword game at a store in Brighton, according to a /uly 30/news release from the Michigan Lottery.
“I scratched the ticket right after I bought it and was excited when I got nine words,” the player told lottery officials. ”When I got the 10th word for a $2 million prize, I was in total shock. Winning is such a great feeling!”
Winning $2 million on a scratch-off is what “lottery players dream of,” Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli said.
The man chose to receive a one-time lump sum of $1.3 million. He said he plans to pay off student loans and buy a new car.
Brighton is about a 45-mile drive northwest from Detroit.
