Gambler from Hawaii bets $10 on slot — then hits big jackpot at Las Vegas casino

A tourist from Hawaii won a big jackpot prize at a Las Vegas casino.

The visitor sat at a Lightning Buffalo Linx Super Grand Jackpot Progressive slot machine Aug. 30 at Virgin Hotels, the casino said in a news release.

The guest bet $10, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen until a jackpot message appeared.

The player won $179,796.66.

Virgin Hotels is just east of the Las Vegas Strip.

But that wasn’t the only big win in Vegas recently.

Another gambler bet $25 on a Dragon Link slot machine and won over $1 million at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, McClatchy News reported.
