Gambler bets $25 on slot machine — and hits big jackpot at New Jersey casino
A lucky gambler walked away from a New Jersey casino with a big jackpot prize.
The woman sat at a Dollar Storm Egyptian Jewels slot machine at 10:33 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, the casino said in a news release.
She bet $25, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen until a jackpot message appeared.
The woman from the Trenton area won more than $107,000.
She had a remaining credit of $832.50 left on the machine.
Casinos were legalized in Atlantic City in 1976. Since then, it has grown into a small resort city along the Atlantic Coast with casinos, nightclubs and entertainment.
The area, about a 125-mile drive south from New York City, brings in about 27 million people every year, according to city officials.
