In August, Knightdale Mayor Jessica Day ordered a mask mandate unlike some other Wake County towns. Do you agree with this decision?

Yes, it was the right decision because not only was it in line with Wake County’s mask mandate; it was/is important for us to protect our town employees, residents and visitors.

What is Knightdale doing right, and wrong, on managing growth?

The growth in Knightdale like most areas in the triangle has increased at almost an alarming rate. Knightdale has been able to see positive changes that allow us to provide housing for all and create a beautifully diverse community. Like most residents here, I agree that we continually face issues with traffic and roadway issues. There is definite improvement that could be made as this will only keep impacting our growth.

If elected, what would your two or three priorities be during your first year in office?

I want to continue the efforts on making Knightdale more accessible to its residents (walkability/bikeability). I also want to see more entertainment for our youth to be active in such as a recreation center.

What unique skills or life perspective would you bring to city governance?

Prior to being appointed to Town Council in January of 2021, I was the chair of the Land Use Review Board of Knightdale. I believe that experience will help me moving forward.
