Support of the arts and artists. Empowering of communities to: pave a neighborhood road; revitalize community centers; close the county landfill.

School test scores dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic. What should North Carolina do to improve student performance?

North Carolina should invest in our public school system, and assure a sound, basic education for all, from pre-K to community college, and allocate funds to: retain teachers and SEL staff, hire mental health practitioners, offer enrichment programs, and capital improvements to assure safe learning environments.

What do you want to happen in North Carolina if Roe v. Wade is overturned?

I would want North Carolinians to stand up and fight for women’s rights. North Carolina to challenge.

What should North Carolina do to reduce violent crime?

A range of measures will be necessary to reduce the range of violent crimes. A few measures include: thorough background checks for firearm permits; opportunities for education and economic prosperity; mental health intervention programs; and regarding hate crimes, DEI and REI trainings.

Should medical marijuana be legalized in North Carolina?

Yes. Medical marijuana helps alleviate pain ... without the side effects of opiates.

What should the state’s minimum wage be? What policies would you support to help struggling North Carolinians?

At the moment, the minimum wage should be at least $15 per hour. To help struggling North Carolinians, I would support job opportunities with benefits, skills training for advancement, tax relief programs, and tying further increases to the cost-of-living index or similar index.

Should North Carolina expand Medicaid, and how?

Yes. North Carolina desperately needs to expand Medicaid and can do so by passing legislation to accept the federal funding for Medicaid expansion.

Is there an area where you disagree with your party? Why?

In general, I agree with the Democratic Party.

What are your top three issues?

Education; voting and elections; infrastructure (broadband, affordable housing, transit)
