Please list highlights of your civic involvement: I have spent much of my adult life spending personal time and energy to address immediate community needs. I have volunteered as a reading coach at several elementary schools, coached youth sports teams, and served as a Family Support Group Leader for military family members.
What is your plan for limiting the effects of inflation?
Harmful fiscal policy has created inflation that is not transitory. The government has pumped too much money into the economy. The feds need to implement contractionary fiscal policies to reduce the money supply while also increasing interest rates and decreasing bond prices.
What is the federal government’s role in controlling or ending the COVID-19 pandemic?
The federal government should allow any COVID surges to be solved at the state level. States are best able to monitor and respond to any issues arising from local COVID surges.
What is the federal government’s role in combating the effects of climate change?
There is uncertainty and inherent complexity to climate science. We must be prudent in interpreting data before basing the policymaking progress on science that is far from settled. We must be pragmatic when analyzing cost to benefit ratios, especially when discussing jeopardizing our economy.
What is your plan for reducing violent crime?
We must ensure a whole-of-government approach to combating violent crime. Many of the policies that worked to reduce violent crime, such as “stop-and-frisk” and “broken windows policing,” were eliminated. A commonsense approach to being tough on criminals is warranted to reduce violent crime.
What should happen if Roe v. Wade is overturned?
The Roe v. Wade decision should be considered bad law and illegitimate from a legal standpoint. Abortion should be a states’ rights issue.
