Occupation: Architect
Education: Masters Degree - Architecture - NC State
Have you run for elected office before? No
Civic involvement: Involved in the Open NC Protest, pushed for passage of HB 558, etc.
School test scores dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic. What should North Carolina do to improve student performance?
School test scores dropped because kids were not in school and not learning. This was unnecessary. We need school choice to promote competition and give parents the right to divert tax dollars to the educational system of their choice that aligns with their faith and values and will remain open!
What do you want to happen in North Carolina if Roe v. Wade is overturned?
I want to see this state ban abortions in NC. I do not want to see NC become an abortion hub like has occurred in Oklahoma. I am pro-life & a Christian and believe life begins at conception.
What should North Carolina do to reduce violent crime?
I do not support BLM nor the “defund the police” movements. BLM is a Marxist organization that believes in the destruction of the nuclear family. We need leaders that support law enforcement. We need to allow the Bible (optional / elective) back in our schools and promote the family and fathers.
Editor’s note: For context on these claims, you can read stories here and here from the fact checking website PolitiFact.
Should medical marijuana be legalized in North Carolina?
I do not support legalization of recreational marijuana. I believe that only medicines derived from marijuana but with THC removed should be permitted such as CBD oils (without THC).
What should the state’s minimum wage be? What policies would you support to help struggling North Carolinians?
We should not be setting a minimum wage. We have system of government that is a democratic republic coupled with a capitalistic economy based upon “supply and demand”. We are already seeing wages rise due to inflation and demand. Setting a minimum wage will further accelerate inflation.
Should North Carolina expand Medicaid, and how?
No. We need NC citizens to be independent and not reliant on government. Reliance on any organization or institution comes with strings attached. We need to put NC citizens to work with their own, independent health care options and plans.
Is there an area where you disagree with your party? Why?
I believe we need to pass laws to prevent all vaccine mandates (private, public and employer). The Dems and Repubs both support employer vaccine mandates although they will tell you different. This is why we tried to get HB 558 passed and it was killed in the House by Tim Moore.
What are your top issues? Pick up to three.
Abortion rights and restrictions; education; medical freedom - stopping vaccine mandates!
