Please list highlights of your civic involvement: Commissioner, North Carolina Industrial Commission for nearly seven years and serving as the Commission’s Chairman for nearly three years. Former Chairman of the Iredell Republican Executive Committee. Former Chairman of the New Hanover Republican Executive Committee.

What could you do, if elected, to help make the justice system more equitable or accessible?

Assure for every person with a matter before me civil liberties are protected and given full effect, in accordance with Article 1, Sections 18-19 of the N.C. Constitution and other law.

Tell us about a specific event in your legal career of which you are most proud.

As Chairman of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, I initiated needed reforms, including my leadership in addressing opioid abuse in workers compensation claims.

Other: I served as the Commissioner on the N.C. Industrial Commission who handled appellate matters, settling the record on appeal, and other matters within the Commission’s jurisdiction. Other experience includes workers’ compensation, real property and mediation.
