Tell us why you’re running to serve Holly Springs. Why should voters trust you in this position?

I’m running to serve Holly Springs because I bring a wealth of experience, strong relationships with town staff, council members and county leaders, and a deep understanding of our local business community and government structure. My commitment to collaboration and inclusivity makes me the ideal candidate. I believe in keeping my promises and fostering vital partnerships for our town’s benefit. Holly Springs deserves a leader who understands the intricacies of local governance and is dedicated to working with all stakeholders to achieve our community’s goals. You can trust me to be that leader, prioritizing your interests, and ensuring our town continues to thrive.

What is the town of Holly Springs doing right to manage growth? What could be improved?

Holly Springs has managed its growth effectively by maintaining a balanced residential-to-non-residential tax base ratio of 70% to 30%. This fiscal strategy ensures sustainable development and adequate revenue streams. To improve further, we must stay committed to the 2024 Strategic Plan, which has proven successful in guiding our town’s growth. Additionally, we need to focus on long-term investments that will support future expansion while enhancing essential community services. By preserving our tax base ratio and strategic planning, we can continue to accommodate growth without compromising the quality of life that Holly Springs residents enjoy. It’s crucial that we remain vigilant in adapting to changing needs and emerging opportunities, all while preserving the charm and well-being of our town.

If elected, how would you approach an existing or new issue differently from your fellow council members?

If elected, my approach to existing issues would differ by emphasizing inclusive decision-making. I believe in involving diverse perspectives and thoroughly considering all factors that might impact the situation. I’m committed to diligent and considerate decision-making, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential obstacles. My strong desire for continual learning and improvement ensures I stay open to new ideas and strategies. Moreover, I am dedicated to fostering open dialogues with fellow council members, valuing their input and experiences, and seeking insights from their successful resolutions of past challenges. Through collaboration, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a respectful exchange of knowledge, I would bring a fresh and effective approach to addressing issues for the benefit of our community.

How do you plan to make local government in Holly Springs more inclusive and equitable for all residents in the town who feel their voices are underrepresented?

To foster inclusivity and equity in Holly Springs’ government, we must engage in meaningful dialogues with diverse individuals. What sets me apart from my opponents is my genuine commitment to listening and engaging with those different from me. Drawing from my YMCA experience, I value inclusivity.

True growth comes from embracing diversity and seeking differing perspectives. To enhance government inclusivity and equity, I’ll maintain this approach, ensuring all residents’ voices and concerns are heard. Together, we’ll build a stronger, equitable community that represents all residents’ needs and aspirations.
