Deputies responding to a 911 call discovered a scene of carnage along a gravel road in North Carolina: three bodies and a fourth person seriously wounded.

Two of the victims were teenagers, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, at a rural home just north of Whiteville, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Whiteville is about 115 miles south of Raleigh.

“Columbus County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 129 Elizabeth Street ... in reference to a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said.

“Four individuals were shot, three are deceased, including the suspect. The surviving individual was airlifted to the hospital in New Hanover County to be treated for the injuries.”

The two victims were identified as Tylek Rashad Bellamy, 19, and Nikolus Maurice Bellamy, 20, and both lived at the home, officials said.

The wounded person was identified as Javion Delton Evans, 19, and he lives at a home on South Thompson Street in Whiteville, officials said. Evans remained hospitalized May 9. His condition has not been released.

“The suspect of this homicide has been identified as Keanan Devon Young, 24, of Lumberton. Young was shot and killed during the incident,” the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators have revealed a motive for the shootings and have not said who shot Young.

Zillow.com reports the site is a three-bedroom home of about 1,600 square feet. The neighborhood of gravel roads is north of the intersection of U.S. 74 and U.S. 701 Bypass.
