Some of the local men on the new season of “Love is Blind” filmed in Charlotte are under fire in light of cheating rumors circulating online.
After a woman went viral on TikTok for claiming she was dating a contestant (which commenters thought was Jimmy Presnell), two more contestants have been exposed on social media with allegations about prior relationships.
Nearly halfway through the release of the newest season of Netflix’s hit dating show, accusations have come out against Jeramey Lutinski, who fans found out was engaged before filming, and Trevor Sova, who may have had a girlfriend during the entire dating experiment.
Did Jeramey apply to the show while engaged?
Jeramey’s prior relationship came to light after a post went viral in a private Facebook group for fans of the show from Jenni Gelven Daniel, who says he was engaged to and living with her daughter when he applied to be on the show.
Though the show didn’t show Jeramey — who proposed to Laura this season— mention the previous relationship, he’s since come out and said that everyone involved in the show, including contestants, knew that he’d been engaged.
“Anybody that I was on dates with, my castmates and in multiple interviews, this topic was discussed. Nobody is surprised by this,” he said in a recent video posted on Instagram. “It was something that was well documented. Unfortunately, with all of the footage that is captured, not all of it makes it into the final cut. This just happened to not make it in there.”
Despite what the mother of his ex-fiancee said, he explained that the casting team reached out to him on social media to join the dating experiment after they broke up.
“I’d already been out on my own for a number of weeks at that point, and I was asked if I would like to have a discussion around it, and I said, ‘Sure, why not,’ and obviously it ended up leading to the show at some point,” he explained.
Cheating allegations against Trevor
Around the time the news of Jeramey’s recent engagement circulated online, so did cheating allegations against Trevor.
According to a social media post from @therealityashley, Trevor was in a serious relationship with Natalia Marrero while filming the show and up until two weeks ago.
“Trevor and I started talking in September of 2022. In October, he was asked to apply for the show, and we weren’t super serious at the time but we did talk about it extensively,” she said in an Instagram story.
Marrero claims Trevor only went on “Love is Blind” hoping to gain “all of the things that come with being reality show famous.”
“He started to do his homework, watching all the other seasons and seeing, you know, the success of some of the people on prior seasons and their Instagrams. We started to get pretty serious. You know, we were talking about getting married and building a life together and he was convinced that this was an opportunity that would help him to do that for us,” she went on to say.
“I trusted him. I loved him. He told me that he wanted to marry me and that this was for us, so I don’t think that I considered the impact of the women that were going on the show truly to be in the experiment.”
She even posted screenshots of text messages she claims he sent before and after filming in the pods.
“I love you so much honey. I’m excited for it but more excited to get back to you after and start our life together,” a message from March 26 says.
Two more messages, apparently sent April 5, said: “I hope you know how much I love you,” followed by, “And had to pretend that this wasn’t real life to say anything I said.”
Though Trevor said he’d planned to propose to Chelsea in the pods, Marrero’s text messages say he never planned on getting married on the show and was going to marry her.
But she said Trevor broke up with her two weeks before the show aired and said he’d try to ruin her life if she tried to come forward and expose the truth.
At this time, Trevor hasn’t addressed or commented on anything related to what Marrero shared.
Did Jimmy have a girlfriend while on the show?
As previously reported by CharlotteFive, Jimmy was also being hit with backlash after a TikTok from a woman saying she caught her cheating boyfriend on the show.
Though she didn’t reveal which contestant she was allegedly dating, a lot of people believed that the viral video posted by Ryann Stringfellow (@ryannstrngflw) was about Jimmy.
“He couldn’t talk to me ‘cause he was working. Come to find out, you’re dating other people,” she said in the video. “He’s talking to this woman who has a child. I can’t compete with that, and she’s stunning.”
But he later denied those allegations, claiming he’d never met her before and that she’d likely lied to get paid off a viral video.
“I don’t know this woman. Never met this woman. It’s not true. I gotta give it to her. It’s an incredible marketing ploy. She is getting so many clicks, and she’s making so much money off my name. It’s insane. She doesn’t say it’s me, but she’s definitely insinuating it’s your boy,” he said in his own TikTok video. “Just know there’s two sides to every story.”
“Love is Blind” reunion episode
Though some of the men have addressed the off-screen drama already, there is a possibility that more could come to light during the cast reunion. The finale will air Wednesday, March 6 and “Love is Blind: The Reunion” premieres Wednesday March 13 at 9 p.m.
