‘Sweet’ dog needs a home — preferably with a lot of food. ‘Got crumbs? Get Sam!’
A “sweet” dog needs a new home — preferably with a lot of food.
“Crumbs will be non-existent in your house if you adopt Sam,” the Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina wrote in a Facebook post. “He can Hoover the floor like nobody’s business.”
Sam, also known as Sammy Sam, is ready for a second chance after he arrived at the rescue Dec. 10. Though his online adoption profile didn’t say how he ended up in need of a new owner, he quickly became known as a food lover.
“He often circles the chicken coop, not for chicken, but for their food,” the Greensboro-based rescue wrote. “He considers cat litter gourmet food, so if you have a cat, you must keep the litter where Sam can’t get access.”
When he’s not searching for something to eat at his foster home, Sam is known for being a calm 7- to 8-year-old dog. But he also has a playful side, frolicking around until he gets tired.
When it comes to quirks, the rescue said Sam rarely gets onto people’s laps and “snores like a chainsaw” at bedtime. He also has a distinctive appearance due to his one blue eye and other brown eye.
“He’s a unique-looking Boston and is so easy to care for,” rescuers wrote. “Now he just needs to find the home that lets him be him so he can live out his golden years surrounded by love.”
The animal organization believes Sam would do best in a home with an older adult and possibly a canine companion. He drinks lots of water, so he will need to go outside often, the rescue said.
As of Dec. 11, the rescue’s website listed Sam among the animals available for adoption. Details about the organization’s adoption process can be found at btrnc.org.
“Got crumbs? Get Sam!” the rescue wrote.
