‘Sweet’ rescue pup is a dog bed ‘connoisseur.’ She’ll need a home where she can relax
A “sweet” rescue pup is selective about her dog beds — and she will need a new home where she can unwind.
“Lucy is a connoisseur of cozy dog beds — she loves to rotate between them throughout the day, just like Goldilocks searching for the perfect fit,” the Triangle Beagle Rescue of North Carolina wrote on Facebook. “When she’s not napping, Lucy is an explorer at heart! She adores spending time outside, sniffing every blade of grass and taking in all the sights and smells of the world around her.”
Lucy is scheduled to go up for adoption April 2, after she finishes heartworm treatment.
Her journey toward adoption started when a good Samaritan found her as a stray. She had been “wandering alone” in the snow before landing at the rescue, the Raleigh-area animal organization wrote online and in emails to McClatchy News.
After making it to safety, Lucy has become known as a “sweet, independent pup who enjoys both adventure and relaxation.” While she doesn’t often cuddle on the couch, she loves to receive belly rubs and play with toys.
“Playtime comes in fun little bursts — she’ll run around with enthusiasm before settling in for a well-earned rest,” rescuers wrote.
On her outdoor adventures, Lucy howls when she wants to explore a trail. And when it’s time to sleep, she can be found cuddled up with her favorite bunny stuffed animal, according to LeAnna Nash, who became her foster parent in February.
“We aren’t 100% sure her age,” Nash told McClatchy News in an email. “She has some senior qualities but also is playful and spunky.”
As Lucy waits to start her next chapter, details about the rescue’s adoption process can be found at tribeagles.org.
