The deal is available to members of Circle K’s free rewards program, Inner Circle, but only for a limited time.

“The back-to-school season is exciting, but it can also bring extra financial strain, which is why it’s the right time for us to bring back Fuel Day for our valued customers, new and existing,” Louise Warner, Circle K’s executive vice president of operations for North America, said in a news release.

Circle K last offered this deal for North Carolina drivers in March.

How to save money on gas at Circle K

Circle K’s deal is only available from 6 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21.

To get the discount, drivers must be enrolled in Inner Circle. It’s free to sign up, which you can do by downloading the Circle K mobile app.

Then while you’re filling up, enter the phone number associated with your Inner Circle account at the pump or inside at checkout, prior to the transaction.

Gas prices in North Carolina

The average price for a regular unleaded gallon of gas in North Carolina was $2.85 as of Tuesday, Aug. 19, according to AAA. That’s about 13 cents below the average nationwide price.

It’s also 34 cents lower than the average statewide price of gas this time last year.

Gasoline prices fell in July, according to the latest Consumer Price Index report, and the U.S. Energy Information Administration expects that gas prices will continue to drop into early 2026.
