Man who didn’t show up for his birthday celebration found shot to death, SC cops say

A South Carolina man reported missing after not showing up for his birthday was found dead, police say.

The 27-year-old man’s friends went to pick him up for his birthday celebration just before midnight on Saturday, according to a news release from the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office.

When Corey Terrell McFadden wasn’t at his home and they couldn’t find him, his friends reported him missing at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office says.

Investigators and family searched for McFadden and later found him dead on a nearby property, the sheriff’s office says. He had died from “apparent gunshot wounds.”

Officials are investigating the case and ask that anyone with information call 803-435-4414, the sheriff’s office says.
