A South Carolina man is planning to buy a new car after a surprising lottery win.

“I couldn’t believe it,” the man told lottery officials. “I spent $2 on a scratch-off.

The Upstate man, who was not publicly identified, bought a Ca$h Flow ticket at the KC Mart #9 in Greer, according to an Oct. 13 news release. He won the top prize of $30,000.

“I like to play the lottery,” the man told lottery officials, adding that he’d stop by the store once he bought a new car with the winnings.

The odds of winning the jackpot in the Ca$h Flow game are 1 in 560,000, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The store that sold the winning ticket received a $300 bonus.

Greer is about 10 miles northeast of Greenville.
