Patrick Murphy: Trump’s McCarthyist tweet

Regarding President Trump’s tweeting unsubstantiated accusations that President Obama had President Trump’s “wires tapped” and that “this is McCarthyism”: Dictionary.com defines McCarthyism as “the practice of making unfair allegations or using unfair investigative techniques, especially in order to restrict dissent or political criticism.”

On this point, I agree with President Trump: That tweet is McCarthyism.
