Jim Hammerle: No Cuban crisis

Concerning the March 23 letter “Clinton, Cuba and cruising” claiming Cuban cancellation of all cruises around the island due to statements by Hillary Clinton: I have just returned from a two-week land tour of Cuba, virtually from one end of the island to the other. I saw several cruise liners debarking passengers in Havana.

While it is impossible to verify a “call from the cruise line,” La Perla, a non-U.S. registered cruise line, would not have suffered any penalty due to statements made in the U.S. presidential primaries. Furthermore, I doubt the Cuban government cares about anything said by these candidates.
