UNC football sold out Kenan Stadium. How to see Bill Belichick, Tar Heels anyway
The anticipation for Bill Belichick’s first season leading UNC football continues to reach new heights. The program announced Wednesday its entire allotment of tickets at Kenan Stadium, both full-season and single-game tickets, is sold out.
July marks the earliest sellout for all tickets for the season in program history.
UNC recommends fans use SeatGeek, an official partner of Carolina Athletics, to purchase tickets for sold-out events. With a little more than a month before the season’s first home game against TCU, ticket prices range from $147 to $1,652, including fees, to watch the Tar Heels take on the Horned Frogs. On StubHub, prices range from $158 to $1,370 for UNC’s home opener on Sept. 1 at 8 p.m.
Resale prices lower when Carolina hosts Richmond on Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m., and Stanford on Nov. 8. Tickets for the game against the Spiders start at $75 on both sites, while the November game’s cheapest seat goes for $90 on SeatGeek and $104 on StubHub.
But for games against Clemson, Virginia and Duke, tickets will be more difficult to come by.
For a seat to watch the Tar Heels against the Tigers on Oct. 4 — one of Carolina’s toughest ACC tests in the regular season — prices begin at $202. Meanwhile, single-game tickets for the Virginia and Duke games start at $111 and $189, respectively.
As Belichick, the eight-time Super Bowl champion, prepares to coach his first collegiate football season, ESPN predicts UNC has a 75 percent chance of winning six or more games and 2.6 percent chance of winning the ACC title. The Tar Heels are projected to finish ninth in the conference.
