WNCN is adding two new meteorologists to beef up its weather team
WNCN-CBS North Carolina is adding two new meteorologists to its lineup, bringing the weather team total to five.
Erin Clanahan, formerly of WFOX/WJAX in Jacksonville, Fla., started at the station this week and will be on-air next week. Clanahan has a meteorology degree from Florida State. She announced in a video on her Facebook page last month that she picked the Triangle because she has been in a long-distance relationship with someone in the area.
Paul Heggen comes to Raleigh from WSMV in Nashville, and is expected to start at WNCN on Nov. 27. He received his meteorology degree from Texas A&M and has also worked in Oklahoma and Minnesota. He has been at WSMV since 2009.
According to WNCN news director Ed Trauschke, both meteorologists will work mornings, Monday through Friday. Clanahan will also handle traffic, said Trauschke.
Weekday morning meteorologist Alyssa Corfont left the station Sept. 1 after having a baby.
Other meteorologists on the CBS North Carolina team are Wes Hohenstein, Bill Reh and Kristin Ketchell.
