The latest of several distinctive Krispy Kreme doughnuts this summer comes cloaked in darkness.

Krispy Kreme’s original glazed doughnuts will be “eclipsed by a mouth-watering chocolate glaze” to commemorate the Aug. 21 solar eclipse at participating stores in the United States and Canada.

Customers also can try the eclipse doughnuts during evening “Hot Light” hours Aug. 19-20, according to a news release.

The eclipse doughnuts follow the temporary return of Cheerwine Kreme soda, and Krispy Kreme also rolled out limited-time, cream-filled Reese’s Peanut Butter doughnuts for the first time.
